Call for contributions

PolyU has made learning to learn (L2L) a strategic priority for 2019-25 and launched the departmental L2L strategy to strengthen the L2L element in the curriculum last year. With the implementation of the departmental L2L strategy underway, more and more teachers are now involved in supporting students learn to learn through subject teaching and academic advising.

To harvest the wealth of experience and insights accumulating among staff members, we are planning to produce a small booklet called Enlightening Moments: An Anthology of Reflections, Insights and Wisdom on L2L by Teachers to spread the words of wisdom to inspire more people to take part in this meaningful cause of helping students to become better learners.

We are now calling for contribution of short reflections (50-100 words) in response to 10 prompt questions under five broad themes (see below). All PolyU staff members are welcome to participate. Special invitation is extended to teachers and academic advisors who are involved in supporting students learn to learn. Please submit your reflection(s) via the online form by 31 March 2023 14 April 2023 (Extended!).

Selected reflections will be collated into a booklet and distributed through a variety of channels. In addition to earning a place in the book ‘Enlightening Moments’, up to 10 reflections will be selected for the ‘Enlightening Moments’ Award. The winners will receive a certificate and a small token of appreciation of their contributions. An award ceremony will be held in early June 2023 to present the prizes.

We look forward to receiving your inspirational reflections!
