With the departmental L2L strategy being put into action, departments, teachers and students alike will be trying new things this year. This year’s event series is titled ‘Goal Beeyond’ to capture this adventurous and energetic spirit, and to encourage students and staff to go beyond their comfort zone to pursue their personal goals and become (and help others become) better learners in the process. The following events are in the pipeline.

January to May 2023

Mini Learning Portfolio Contest [for students]

A student activity in the form of a contest, in which students set a goal and try to achieve in the space of a semester, reflect on the learning experience and tell their stories through a mini portfolio. The best and the most inspiring portfolios will win a prize.

‘Enlightening Moments’ Reflection Sharing [for staff]

An activity for teachers and academic advisors to share their reflections, insights and wisdom on L2L and to inspire more teachers and students to engage in L2L. A selection of the most inspiring sharing will be collated into a booklet for wider dissemination.

Sharing of Good Practice [for departments]

In addition to the interim report, departments are encouraged to share examples of good practice developed or implemented by their teaching teams to support students in L2L since last year. Outstanding examples will be selected for showcasing at the June event.

June 2023

‘L2L Showcase cum Award Ceremony 2023’ [for all]

A grand event will be held in June 2023 to celebrate the achievements of students, teachers and departments in L2L this year. The event will showcase examples of good practice contributed by departments, reflection sharing by teachers, and present the prizes to the winners of the student and staff events. The departments with the highest number of students and teachers participating in these events will win the L2L Champion Award.
