EDC Workshop - Becoming a Scholarly Teacher

Becoming a Scholarly Teacher

This new four-part workshop series is designed to provide an overview of the growing field of the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL).  The following four topic areas will be addressed across all four workshops accompanied by hands-on activities:
·         Scholarship in Higher Education
·         Planning an SoTL study
·         Library resources and research skills for SoTL
·         Negotiating publication of the outcomes of your SoTL study

You are cordially invited to attend this series to develop new skills and meet colleagues interested in SoTL.  The information presented and skills practiced will be useful for teachers interested in:
·         Reflecting on their own teaching (drawing on theory and evaluation data)
·         Developing a plan for a small SoTL project

Facilitators:  Josie Csete (EDC), Carmel McNaught (CUHK), Janice Chia (LIB)

Each workshop has two timeslots:
AM Sessions “A”  10:00 – 12:30  or
PM Sessions “B”   2:30 – 5:00

“Certificate of Attendance” will be awarded to participants attending all four workshops in the series.  Each workshop will be provided twice and you are welcome to sign up for either the am or the pm sessions of the series.  Please note that attending individual sessions is not advised.
