Seven renowned scholars from the Chinese mainland were honoured by PolyU at a special presentation ceremony held for the University’s “Distinguished Chinese Visiting Scholars Scheme” on 19 November.

They are all Members of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), including: Prof. Xu Houze, Professor of the Institute of Geodesy and Geophysics of the CAS; Prof. Fu Congbin, Research Professor of the Institute of Atmosphere Physics of the CAS; Prof. Cheng Shijie, Professor of Huazhong University of Science and Technology; Prof. Ye Peijian, Professor of the China Academy of Space Technology; Prof. Yang Wei, President of Zhejiang University; Prof. Ouyang Ziyuan, Professor of the Institute of Geochemistry of the CAS; and Prof. Lu Ke, Director of the Institute of Metal Research of the CAS.

During their stay in Hong Kong, the distinguished scholars presented a series of public lectures and seminars on their areas of expertise. They also exchanged ideas with and advised the departments concerned on a wide range of topics. Details >>
