PolyU team awarded in aircraft design contest

PolyU wins two IT awards in a row

Recently, a Mechanical Engineering student team brought home the Second Runner-up (Navigated Flight Category) of the 2013 Taiwan Innovative Unmanned Aircraft Vehicle Design Competition organized by National Cheung Kung University. It is the very first time that a university team from Hong Kong was honoured in this competition.

Led by Prof. Wen Chih-yung and Dr Su Zhongqing of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, the team named “Poly-Phoenix” comprises Tse Chun-yin (team leader), Siu Man-chun and Pang Ho-yin. During the competition, the team built an unmanned aircraft vehicle from scratch to perform a simulated rescue mission within 40 minutes. Details>>
