PolyU community celebrates the opening of Homantin hostel

On 19 April, PolyU celebrated the grand opening of its Halls of Residence (Homantin) and took the opportunity to hold a Donors’ Reception to thank those scholarship and bursary donors who have rendered their generous support in the 2012/13 academic year. More than a hundred benefactors and guests joined this joyful event which was officiated by President Prof. Timothy W. Tong.

Located within a 15-minute walking distance from the main campus, the new Halls of Residence is a 25-storey building comprising six halls which can accommodate some 1,650 students in single, double, triple rooms or nine-person-suites. Each of the halls features a distinctive theme in facilitating the growth of students through a living-learning hall community.

In the 2012/13 academic year, thanks to the generous support of donors and academic departments, PolyU has offered over $73.5 million scholarships to students with outstanding academic and/or non-academic achievements. Details>>
