Biography

Prof. Guo is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computing at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), holding a joint appointment in the Department of Land Surveying and Geo-Informatics. He received his Ph.D., M.Phil., and B.Eng. degrees from PolyU, Waseda University, and Sichuan University, respectively, all in computer science and AI. From 2021 to 2022, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Sydney, where he was also a visiting Ph.D. from 2019 to 2020. He is generally interested in Efficient AI, which targets learning/modeling with limited resources in terms of data, computing capability, as well as their applications on wide spectrums. Some specific topics include zero/few-shot learning, collaborative/federated learning, representation learning, model compression, and lightweight solutions for foundation/large models. He is currently serving as Associate Editor for IEEE Open Journal of the Computer Society, Guest Editor for IEEE Transactions on Computational Social Systems, and Guest Editor for Complex & Intelligent Systems. He regularly serves as Area Chair and/or Senior PC for prestigious venues like ICML, NeurIPS, ACM-MM, AAAI, IJCAI, etc.
