The first meeting on Tasks 3 and 4 of the TRS project

On the afternoon of 9 February 2026, Prof. Ming-Feng Huang from Guangxi University visited the National Rail Transit Electrification and Automation Engineering Technology Research Centre (Hong Kong Branch) (CNERC-Rail) at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University to conduct academic exchange activities.

A discussion session was held in Room Z406. During the meeting, Prof. Yi-Qing Ni extended a warm welcome to  Prof. Ming-Feng Huang, followed by self-introductions from members of the TRS project team. Dr. E Deng presented the project's research progress, highlighting the Monte Carlo typhoon simulation and the analysis of LiDAR monitoring data collected during Typhoon Ragasa. He also briefly outlined the future work plan, which includes LiDAR deployment in the Northern Metropolis, WRF data assimilation simulation, and wind tunnel experiments.

Prof. Ming-Feng Huang engaged in in-depth discussions with the team and offered valuable constructive suggestions regarding the accuracy verification of the Monte Carlo simulation, the in-depth statistical analysis of LiDAR monitoring data, and the optimization of the WRF simulation scheme.
