On the afternoon of 9 Jan 2026, Prof. Yi-Qing Ni met with Dr. Kai-Yuen Wong, Mr. Tany Kwan, and members of the TRS project team in ZS1215 to discuss a range of topics, including data processing, task allocation, LiDAR monitoring, and differences in design standards. During the meeting, Dr. Kai-Yuen Wong reviewed the research plans for Study 1 and Study 2 and outlined the current issues in LiDAR data processing. Prof. Yi-Qing Ni further refined the task assignments and clarified the responsibilities of each member. Mr. Jian Wang presented a summary of recent LiDAR monitoring results, with a focus on the differences in wind profile characteristics observed at various stations during Typhoon Ragasa. Dr. Xiu-Yu Chen introduced the relevant wind-resistant design codes for bridges in Mainland China and compared them with the approaches adopted for bridge wind-resistant design in Hong Kong. The participants also engaged in discussions on key issues including data storage and processing, LiDAR data validation, and the development of academic publications based on high-quality datasets, laying a solid foundation for the advancement of the next stage of research and for research outputs.
