A Meeting between TRS Team Members and Building Technology Research lnstitute on Wind Environment Research

On 6 Jan 2026, Prof. Yi-Qing Ni, Dr. E. Deng (Research Fellow), Mr. Huan Yue (Research Student), and Mr. Jian Wang (Research Assistant) from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, along with Prof. Kam Tim Tse from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, visited the Building Technology Research lnstitute to discuss wind environment research in Hong Kong’s Northern Metropolis. During the meeting, Prof. Ni outlined the team’s proposed research methods and technical framework, including Monte Carlo typhoon simulation, LiDAR field observations, WRF numerical model, and wind tunnel test. The participants further discussed potential sites for the installation of additional LiDAR systems in the Northern Metropolis and exchanged views on key technical aspects of WRF simulations and wind tunnel test, providing a solid foundation for subsequent research.
