Abdullahi Babatunde SAKA

Biography

Abdullahi obtained  his  first  degree  in  Quantity  Surveying  at  the Federal  University  of  Technology,  Akure(FUTA),  Nigeria;  where  he  graduated  as  the  best  student  in  the  department  and  as  the  best  student  in  the School  of  Environmental  Technology  (SET)  with  several  University  prizes  and  awards.  He  worked  as  an Assistant Lecturer at the Department of Quantity Surveying, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), Nigeria between 2016 to 2017. He joined BRE in September 2018 for his PhD program.He is an Associate Member of the Hong Kong Institute of Project Management (AHKIPM). Also, he is currently the Lead for Research and Development Committee of BIM Africa, a Pan-African community of construction professionals and researchers with the responsibility of digitizing the African Built Environment.

Building Information Modelling (BIM), Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs), Sustainable Construction,Construction Project Management, Machine Learning, Data Science, Digital Construction, and Construction in Developing Countries.

Research Scope

His current research focuses on Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) in Developing countries whereSMEs are the backbone of the economy and vital to the country’s development. Specifically,the adoption and implementation  of  Building  Information  Modelling(BIM)in  the Construction Small  and  Medium-Sized Enterprises  (SMEs)  in  Developing  Countries.  It  involves  developing a dynamic  model  for  the  firms  towards sustainable adoption of BIM at the organization level and development of a hybrid intelligent system for such firms at the project level.

Research Methodology

A mixed research methodology is currently adopted in the research study.Methods include in-depth literature reviews,interviews  with  experts,  Delphi  survey,  Case  studies,  Focus  Group  Discussion,  and  Empirical questionnaire surveys.
Descriptive and inferential statistical tools are proposed to analyze the data coupled with the use of Machine Learning techniques.
