TDG eLearning Project Sharing: Cooking Up a Fun Blended Learning Class with a Key Ingredient–Blackboard Collaborate

Date: 12 Dec 2018
Time: 12:30 PM - 2:00 PM
Venue: TU411

This is a sharing session of our TDG project: Reinforce Blended Learning Approach with the Use of BlackBoard Collaborate in Class.

Blackboard Collaborate is a web conferencing tool widely used to deliver seminars with features to chat among audiences plus a variety of collaborative and interactive features. Instead of conducting a remote lecture in a virtual classroom, innovative uses of Blackboard Collaborate in a face-to-face class are revealed in our project. In a computer lab where the environment does not favor a face-to-face lecture, Blackboard Collaborate is used to webcast the presentation to connect nearly hundred students.

Blackboard Collaborate provides a platform to create and enhance active, collaborative and interactive learning experiences where students interact with peers and instructor by using a variety of features.

With the use of a blended learning approach and Blackboard Collaborate, a large number of students could engage in interactive activities easily. We aim to enrich students’ learning experience by improving their satisfaction, motivation, and engagement in various learning activities and eventually enhance their academic performance.
