Symposium Highlights

OBA in the 4-Year Curriculum

UGC encourages institutions to integrate the development of outcome-based approach (OBA) to student learning into the 4-year curriculum. This Symposium will provide an opportunity for teachers and administrators in higher education to discuss issues that are related to the development of OBA in the new curriculum.

Keynote Presentations by International Experts

The keynote presentations will address two important issues pertaining to successful OBA development:

Assessing Learning Outcomes for the 4-Year Curriculum
An international consultant on assessing the quality of learning outcomes in higher education,
Dr Trudy W. Banta will draw upon her extensive experience to help us differentiate assessment of individual students’ learning and assessment of programme outcomes, for programme improvement.

Integrating Graduate Attributes into the Academic Curricula
Keynote speaker Dr Simon Barrie is a pioneer in researching into using “graduate attributes” to effectively drive curriculum renewal for 21st century learners.  He will explore with us some of the challenges of such an endeavor and share his insights from his research.
