SHTM Designated HFTP Asia-Pacific Headquarters

Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP), an international professional association based in Texas, USA, has designated the SHTM as its headquarters for the Asia-Pacific region.

Joining the unveiling ceremony of the new headquarters on 16 November 2012 at the SHTM were Mr Frank Wolfe, HFTP Chief Executive Officer, and Professor Kaye Chon, SHTM Dean and Chair Professor.

According to Mr Wolfe, the establishment of the headquarters at the SHTM will add greatly to the value of HFTP for its members, who will be better able to network with their peers in the region to everyone’s mutual benefit. He also stated that the association with the SHTM would greatly help to communicate the academic efforts in the region during a period of such dramatic growth, providing opportunities for everyone involved.

This event marked yet further recognition of the SHTM’s world-class standing and the rising importance of hospitality and tourism education in Asia. As Professor Chon pointed out, through this platform the SHTM will further contribute to the education and professional development of hospitality practitioners, which will also enhance the professional standard of related disciplines.

Founded in 1952, HFTP is dedicated to providing the hospitality finance and technology community with useful resources and networking and educational opportunities. It currently has over 4,800 members around the world.
