Innovations showcased at Design Mart @ Detour 2009

 

On 1-2 December, PolyU partnered with the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) to organize this year’s InnoAsia. Held at the Hong Kong Science Park, the two-day event consisted of conferences and business matching forums evolving around the theme – Sustainable City, Transportation and Energy.

Officiating at the event’s opening ceremony was Mr Edward Yau Tang-wah, Secretary for the Environment, HKSAR Government; Mr Victor Lo, Chairman of PolyU Council and Chairman of Business of Design Week; Mr Nicholas Brooke, Chairman of HKSTP; Mr E. Anthony Tan, CEO of HKSTP; and Prof. Timothy W. Tong, President of PolyU.

Day one of the event featured discussions related to the topic of sustainable city while day two focused on exploring sustainable transportation/energy. A number of world renowned experts shared their global perspectives on the theme. The event has attracted the attendance of over 500 academics, scientists and entrepreneurs from across Asia.
