Students shine in international engineering design contest

Recently, a team of students from Department of Mechanical Engineering won the third place of an International Engineering Design Contest with their innovation of “Energy-relay cars”. Led by academic adviser Ir Lo Kok-keung, the team is composed of Curie Hau Wing-yi (Team Leader), Chi Yuk-fung and Ng Ka-kui.

The team’s design is a set of four self-propelled mini-cars which can complete a relay race on a 12-metre track within six seconds. With an on-board energy source, each car can trigger the motion of the next car when it moves forward. Details>>
