PolyU student comes first in IT project competition

Mr Choi Hin-kwong from PolyU’s Department of Computing beat over 20 student teams from local universities and institutions and won the championship in the 2011 Amway Pan-Pearl River Delta Region Universities IT Project Competition (HKSAR Region) organized by the Internet Professional Association.

Under the supervision of Associate Professor Dr Henry Chan, Mr Choi’s final-year project, entitled “Intelligent and interactive signage systems using digital signage and mobile phone”, is an innovative system that allows users to retrieve information from advertising display panels.

The project will represent Hong Kong in the final round to compete with university students from the Chinese mainland.
