Mr. Simon Wong, Vice President (Campus Development and Facilities), expressed his gratitude and appreciation to Mr. Pang and Ms. Po, Customer Service Attendants from Hong Yip Service Company Limited, for their lifesaving and heroic actions. The two staff demonstrated courage and composure by swiftly applying CPR and AED skills to save the life of a staff member who had suffered a cardiac arrest last November at Block X Sports Centre. Mr. Wong appreciated their selfless actions and reiterated that Safety is Everyone's Responsibility.

AEDs are designed to be simple to use by the general public (lay responders), they are also an important part of responding to a cardiac arrest. Currently, the University has placed more than 20 fully automatic AEDs on various campus locations to enhance the emergency preparedness of the community.
