As part of the PolyU Chinese Culture Festival, the “Splendid China Embroidery – Traditional Chinese Embroidery Crafts and Ou Embroidery Works Exhibition” showcases a diverse collection of embroidery artworks across the PolyU campus. On 23 April 2024, we organised a guided tour exclusively for alumni to visit the exhibition and learn about the national intangible cultural heritage.
This exceptional opportunity was led by Ms Zou Shengzhu, Senior Arts and Crafts Artiest of Zhejiang Industry and Trade Vocational College and Zhejiang Arts and Crafts Master. She introduced a series of Ou embroidery exhibits, which hold significant artistic value. The creative ideas behind the artworks and the masterful craftsmanship left the alumni amazed and expanded their horizons. Furthermore, Ms Zou skilfully integrated traditional embroidery crafts into modern life, offering a wide range of products such as phone cases, notebooks, and jewellery. The alumni admired the exhibits and actively asked questions, enjoying a morning of cultural enrichment.
