Title of project:
Effect of Apolipoprotein A-I (ApoA1) Raising Drugs on Eye Growth

ApoA1 is differentially expressed in hyperopic eye growth and intravitreal injection of nicotinic acid (NA), an ApoA1 raising drug, can retard myopic eye growth in chicks. Thus, ApoA1 may act as a key protein in myopic eye growth. To further investigate the effect of NA by oral administration, mass spectrometry (MS) based proteomic approach is applied into this study to dig out the ApoA1 related and other underlying biological mechanisms on myopic eye growth.
