Associate Professor

Biography

Dr. Barry Mak is an associate professor of aviation and tourism in the School of Hotel and Tourism where he has worked for more than twenty-eight years. In 1989, Dr. Mak commenced his travel and tourism career as supervisor with one of the largest travel agencies in Hong Kong, Farrington Travel Ltd. (now Farrington American Express Services Ltd.), focusing on corporate travel business. In 1992, he joined The Hong Kong Polytechnic as Assistant Lecturer. Dr. Mak holds a Bachelor degree in Geography, Hong Kong Baptist University, MSc in Tourism and Doctor of Philosophy in tourism at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, UK. His teaching and research interests range from airline and airport management to travel agency management. Please browse the following pages for details.
