SHTM Hosts the 11th APacCHRIE Youth Conference
Held concurrently with APacCHRIE 2020, the 11th APacCHRIE Youth Conference was another successful hybrid event that took place both online and offline.

While delegates of the Youth Conference attended a number of sessions at APacCHRIE 2020, they also had the chance to attend sessions organised uniquely for them.

After being warmly welcomed by Ms Margaret Heng of APacCHRIE and Dr Henry Tsai, SHTM Associate Professor and Chairman of the Youth Conference, the delegates benefited from Dean Kaye Chon's keynote presentation on the topic "Passion, Love, Mother". This was followed by the second keynote presentation delivered by Mr Joseph Chong, Regional Vice-President, Asia, Peninsula Hotels, and Managing Director, The Peninsula Hong Kong.

The second day of the conference opened with the third keynote presentation by Ms Veon Tsang, Managing Director, HotelsHR Limited, who delivered an inspiring speech to conference attendees. This was followed by the third plenary session entitled "Sharing from Recent Graduates: The Journey after University", chaired by Ms Regina Wang, SHTM Instructor, with the participation of SHTM graduates Mr Zelotes Lam, Front Desk Manager, Rosewood Hong Kong; Ms Jacqueline Li, Coverage Group Assistant & APAC Online Valuations Coordinator, Sotheby's; Mr Wesley Ling, Director of Talent & Culture, Carlyle & Co.; and Ms Luna Wang, Customer Insights Manager, Cathay Pacific Airways.

Before the close of the conference, the Best Paper Award was presented to Ms Xuehan Wu, Mr Yi Liu and Ms Yuanyi Chen for their paper titled "Exploring the Spatial-temporal Structure of the Tourism Market – A Case Study of Sanya".

The SHTM was delighted to have successfully provided a dedicated platform for undergraduate students with diverse cultural backgrounds to exchange ideas, develop leadership skills and knowledge and expose them to various opportunities. The School thanked all of the delegates for their enthusiastic participation and the undergraduate students for their high quality presentations.
