A fruitful delegation to Bangkok returned with a MOU with Cloud 11 and Partnerships

PolyU Design Collaborates School of Design

We are thrilled to announce that PolyU Design and Cloud 11 from Thailand have entered into a strategic partnership through the signing of an MOU on 4th July 2023. This partnership will foster innovation, creativity, and immersive learning experiences for students and practitioners. During the MOU signing ceremony, Mr. Onza Janyaprasert, SVP and Director of Cloud 11 (2nd from the left), and Prof. Kun-Pyo Lee, Dean of PolyU Design (2nd from the right), signed the MOU, marking the beginning of this exciting collaboration.

Prof. Kun-Pyo Lee, (Centre) Dean of PolyU Design led the team in a meeting with Swap & Go, a new business from the PTT Group that operates a battery swapping platform. Swap & Go is focused on developing clean energy solutions to enhance the quality of life for the Thai people and foster societal growth. Representatives from Swap & Go who attended the meeting were: Mr Vuthikorn Anusasamornkul, Head of Strategy and Finance (5th from the right) / Mr Nattapol Swasdibut, Product & Business Development (3rd from the right)

A group of MDes IBD students participated in the "Design Hackathon" held at Thammasat Design University. During the event, Prof. Kun-Pyo Lee, Dean of PolyU Design (9th from the left), had the opportunity to introduce PolyU Design with the students and faculty members of Thammasat Design University. Finally, some of our MDes IBD students were also involved in the winning teams, which won the 1st and 2nd runner-up in the Design Hackathon! The PolyU Design Delegation had a meeting with SCG WEDO, a new innovation organization and one of the new business development teams of SCG. SCG WEDO focuses on bringing together best practices in Design, Business, and Technology to drive digital transformation within SCG. Representing SCG WEDO at the meeting was: Mr. Apirut Vanchaam, Chief Digital Officer of SCG Digital (4th from the left).


A delegation led by Prof. Kun-Pyo Lee has made a wonderful journey in Bangkok in early July to explore academic and industry collaborations, focusing on regional cooperation and academic exchange.

We are delighted to have engaged with various corporations, organisations and Thammasat Design School to foster meaningful connections and signing a significant MOU with Cloud 11.

The MOU between PolyU Design and Cloud 11 establishes a long-term partnership on interactive multimedia and entertainment technology and covers a series of collaborations in research and development, training programme and event exhibitions at Cloud 11 spaces. This partnership will foster innovation, creativity, and immersive learning experiences for students and partitioners.

Moving forward, we will continue discussions on diversity development in applied research and industry collaboration. Our gratitude to all who supported us throughout this fruitful journey and look forward to meeting all the friends again soon.
