Marcelo Duhalde on "Design to tell stories"
Information design tools to tell stories and generate original content for big audiences on different platforms. A mix of skills and interests are the necessary ingredients for the transition from the world of graphic design to visual storytelling. The designer, as author and creator, will expand the reach of his or her profession to different fields, like News media, Finance and banking reports, Science knowledge diffusion, Government and Community services visual support, Education, Engineering and many others, where visual stories, explainers and data visualisation are required.Advertising Design
Tony Hon on "Confession of an ex-graphic designer"
Tony Hon loves art and design since he was born. He wants to create beautiful works which are funny, smart and tasteful. Being the world’s best graphic designer is his dream and passion. Like every graphic design fan, he went to graphic design school and then became a graphic designer, an assistant graphic designer to be exact. However, after a year, he changed his mind. He thinks advertising may be more adventurous. Then the rest is history.
Tony Hon has been an adman for over 30 years. He has created more 300 campaigns across many categories, local and international brands. He is happy to share with the students all the personal experiences of his creative career.

Keynote Speaker

Mr Marcelo Duhalde
Associate Creative Director of South China Morning Post
Marcelo Duhalde joined the Post as its infographic designer in 2016, having worked previously as the deputy infographic editor at the Times of Oman. Duhalde has won more than 90 Society for News Design awards, 17 Malofiej medals, one Peter Sullivan's best of show (2015) and four gold medals at the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers awards. His work has been published in several books, magazines, and infographic and data visualisation websites in Europe, Asia and the Americas.

Mr Tony Hon
Founder of Turn Creative Ltd.
After receiving his BA degree in Graphic Design (Advertising) from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Tony Hon worked at Grey, O&M, FCB, JWT, and as Executive Creative Director at M&C Saatchi. He then founded Turn in 2005. His clients include Olympus, Sony, Nescafe, Maxim’s, Hysan Group, Sino Properties, etc.Tony has won over 70 awards, including Gold for Best Print, Best Single TV, Best Art Direction at 4As Creative Awards, and Spike at the Asian Advertising Awards.
