Entering the design industry with my traditional background in graphic design has opened many doors and opportunities, and it has given me great chances to work for clients primarily in the hospitality sector to create aesthetically driven digital design. Throughout my years of working as a UI/UX designer before joining the MDes programme at PolyU, I recognised that in order to continue developing my professional career as a creative, it was necessary for me to fill in the gap of a deeper understanding of the audience and the user that I am ultimately designing for.

At the MDes programme with a specialism in Smart Service Design, not only does the department offer classes that deep dive into understanding both the back and front end of the service sector, but it also offers the flexibility for students to attend other specialism classes as electives. This is a unique opportunity for me, as I have a strong passion for spatial and environment design, which I was unable to find a chance to delve into in my previous years.
