Meet the Fellows
Ruby C. Y. Tse
I am Ruby Tse, and I graduated from the Hong Kong Institute of Higher Education and Technology (Thei) with a First Class Honours degree in Product Design.
During my study, I was awarded the Talent Development Scholarship by the Department of Education in 2022 and received the Dean's Commendation List from the school between 2018 and 2022.

As a design student, I would describe myself as a curious and active person. In my first year, I participated in a global design project organised by the Swinburne University of Technology in Australia. I was curious about how transportation systems were designed in other countries and eager to take what I learned back to Hong Kong.

I have close to four years of experience using illustrator, photoshop, and fusion360. For the past four years, I have worked in design companies. One of the companies is AI Mnemonic which designed IoT products in HKSTP. I learnt how to design IoT products and communicate with other students studying other subjects. It was a great experience – not only because I had the opportunity to be involved in producing a new product but also because this product addressed and changed people's lives for the better and in a new way.

I am aspired to design new products and services to give people in Hong Kong, particularly those in need, a better quality of life. After graduation, I plan to work in an IoT company in Hong Kong and contribute to the future development of Hong Kong. In addition, I wish to use design to help more people in need and improve the environment and social equality. This is because when I worked on my IoT-related project for my bachelor's, I found that design can help some people in the minority change their lives.
