Katy M. K. Chung
Katy Chung is a home goods designer with roots in Hong Kong.
Chung obtained her bachelor’s degree in Furniture Design at Savannah College of Art and Design in the USA, with a minor in Package Design. During her studies, she worked with many companies such as Target, Drexel, HighTower and Zuo Mod, through university collaboration projects and internships. After graduation, she worked at a large furniture company, Gabby Home, as the design lead for 3 years before moving back to Hong Kong for further studies. She is currently studying her master’s degree in Design at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, with a focus on Innovative Business Design.

Chung is strategically planning on establishing a design-focused home goods brand upon graduation. The brand Chung is launching would like to create a sense of home through a curation of meaningful objects, with small space living and compact moving in mind. The idea behind the curations stems from Chung’s experiences moving city to city and collecting a core collection of home objects. She would like to embody a sense of familiarity in each home through these objects, creating a personal oasis.

Chung hopes to launch this brand in Hong Kong and is actively seeking opportunities within the creative and manufacturing industries in Asia. Her time at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University is an exciting experience that would help her immensely in her journey.
