Meet the Fellows
Cyrick K. F. Leung
I am Cyrick, an innovative, goal-oriented and comprehensive project producer who possesses 3+ years of working experience specializing in Experiential Marketing & Events, from planning to execution. I graduated with a bachelor in Advertising and Branding. It turned out I went into a full-time job that has nothing much related to Advertising but Marketing & Events. I feel entangled throughout years and years of experiences because the boundary of Marketing, Advertising, Public Relations, Media, etc., has been buried drastically and stealthily. But the correlation between one another is tighter. I found two main elements becoming the edgiest roles within, and they are "storytelling" and "design", especially the strategies and thinking. Therefore, the chance for me to excel and master the design strategy appears in front of my eyes.

Stepping into the next level of career path

I kicked off my career in the creative industry. Mastering design thinking is definitely an incredible push power for me to increase possibilities in the workplace like bringing new perspectives in a wider observation. Let alone the financial incentive, I am long for the opportunity to further my study in the design field. Design and innovation are key drivers of change generating commercial, social, cultural and ecological value. MDes (Design Strategies) will give me a leading-edge insight, and the mindset and problem-solving skills needed to effectively work in a constantly evolving global environment. Most importantly, the course combines academic study with creative and professional practice in a project-led curriculum that draws on a range of interdisciplinary perspectives from business and the arts. I am intended to further my study in this programme for a better career pathway, extensive design knowledge, and sharp global exploration with industrial partners.

Going back to the industry for intensive training at the managerial level

Joining the creative agency specialising in art & cultural portfolio as a project manager or producer allows me to oversee creative teams and departments to create the optimum cultural experiences locally and spark brands’ identity. After graduation, I am confident that I could be a leader strategically champion creative projects across an organisation as a means of innovation and differentiation. Also, be able to stimulate and facilitate a culture of innovation, collaboration and enterprise within and across disciplines, cultures, companies and industries. For example, an act of giving back to my society and fellows such as giving guest lectures in local colleges or holding cultural exchange salon locally.

Profoundly believing in, “how big you dream, then how far you can reach.”

My long term aspiration is to become an independent editorial publisher, who loves embracing the distinctive character and uniqueness of everyone, every culture and everything in this universe. By using words and visuals to create stories, as the major medium of showing the sharable values and messages to people from all walks of life. I am confident that I would have acquired knowledge in a wider territory for design technique, decomposing aestheticism and social understanding in the postgraduate programme. Hopefully, it allows me to excel in bring business and societal values to our world. Maybe I will also establish my own independent agency, creating job opportunities for the youth and make great works.
