Meet the Fellows
Phyllis W. C. Wong
I am a degree graduate from the department of architecture of Jinan University. It is my honour to continue my further study in urban environments design at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

During the past five years at Jinan University, I had a clear goal and a high enthusiasm for architecture that I hope to make contributions in the field of architectural design. I won the first prize scholarship of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan students for three years with good academic performance at Jinan University. While I was met with difficulties in the study, I would ask the teacher or classmates actively.

Apart from learning professional knowledge, I also dabbled in other aspects of knowledge, such as improving my English language ability and cultivating my reading interest in philosophy, humanities and arts etc. In daily life, I am good at communicating with others and willing to help others solve problems. I am self-disciplined, thrifty, and strict with myself and have the habit of self-criticism which enables me to find and correct my mistakes in time and remind myself to keep the right attitude. I also have several hobbies after study like: dancing, drawing, playing guitar etc, which help me to keep fit and relax and entertain myself.

In my free time, I also like to think and study human behaviour problems, which I think is the most important factor to consider before any design. During my postgraduate study in The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, I believe I could learn further relevant knowledge and different perspectives and ways of thinking while putting forward my own ideas, to enhance my self-learning ability.

As a hardworking student with a positive attitude, I think I am better qualified for the Fellowship.

As for my future plan, I hope to work in Hong Kong after completing the postgraduate courses. I have been planning my future developing direction since I was a secondary school student. My goal has always been clear: to practice urban architectural design in the industry and use what I learnt to make some contributions to Hong Kong's future city planning, as well as the housing problems and environmental protection that we have to face all the time. Also, I will be an active participant if I can participate in some professional training in the future.
