Meet the Fellows
Sandy Y. S. Leung
I aspire to be a competent, ethically aware business developer and leader. IDBM will equip me with the dynamic capabilities to meet major challenges ahead that requires adaptive and innovative solutions with well-thought-out strategies.
Education has been a pinnacle and catalyst of change in my life. It has brought me challenges and taught me how to turn them into opportunities. Teaching me the skills of persistence and perseverance throughout life as hardships will always be present in coming cycles, but they challenge us to become better each time we build the will and are willing to work through it. My studies at PolyU have equipped me with the skills and perspective to further enhance my performance at work. It brought me knowledge, not only in the form of theories but also of life and experience of becoming a better individual, friend, student, teacher, employee, and leader.

Throughout my previous experiences, I know now that I was not only responsible for myself but also those around me, the world and the society we live in. I know how precious education is, which is why I want to make the most out of this opportunity for the chance to pursue such a unique degree with focal points in Design, Business Management and Technology. Design serves as a presentation and a communication point, business management deals with internals and operations as a foundation for functioning and technology helps improve in many facets - all are crucial to businesses and their growth.

Upon completing my undergraduate degree, I learnt what I experienced was only the tip of the iceberg, for I had many more questions and an urge to explore and understand more to further my career aspiration of being a competent but also ethically aware business developer and leader. My motto is in line with PolyU’s: to learn and to apply, for the benefit of mankind.

I intend to work my hardest to be aware of the implications and results of my actions, not only as a direct consequence but also the larger implications of the world around me. I want to be a leader who will help build a better future for those in our time and for future generations, which is why I wish to further my studies and equip myself with as much knowledge as possible and connect and share ideas with others who wish to do the same.

I also hope to make my university, PolyU and all who have invested their time and care in me- proud. The same institution which gave me so many opportunities to develop myself, who invested in me through different programmes, developmental workshops, mentorships, and competitions – as I know I will put in my best and work as hard, be as committed as I can when I choose to dedicate myself to something.

I look forward to what the future holds.
