29 Sep 2025

PolyU Design Knowledge Transfer School of Design

The Li Ka Shing Design & Innovation Centre (LKSD&I) had the pleasure of hosting students from Aberdeen Technical School to the School of Design at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University for the Designpreneur x STEM Workshop on 1 July 2025. This special event was designed to introduce secondary school students to the exciting world where design, technology, and entrepreneurship meet.

Throughout the day, students learned how to approach problems creatively and develop practical solutions. They explored the basics of design thinking, discovering how to empathize with users, generate ideas, and create prototypes that address real-world needs. Using Artec Blocks as the STEM tools and hands-on activities, participants brought their ideas to life, experiencing first-hand how creativity and technology can work together.

The workshop concluded with teams presenting their projects. This gave students the chance to practice their communication skills and share their innovative ideas, with some teams receiving awards for their outstanding work.
By taking part in this workshop, students gained valuable experience in teamwork, problem-solving, and innovation. LKSD&I is proud to support the next generation of creative thinkers and looks forward to hosting more inspiring events in the future.

Thank you to Aberdeen Technical School and everyone who contributed to making this workshop a success.
