On 25 August 2025, the School of Design (PolyU Design) and the School of Fashion and Textiles (PolyU SFT) at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University jointly hosted the 2025 Design Research Impact and Global Insights Colloquia, launching a concurrent exhibition. This event brought together leading design researchers to share groundbreaking insights and showcase innovative projects. The colloquium fostered vibrant discussions among researchers, driving advancements in design research and innovation while presenting new perspectives for global impact.
Prof. Kun-Pyo LEE welcomed the guests and gave an opening remark.
Prof. Peter HASDELL from PolyU Design presented the topic “Insitu Project 2015-2025: enabling impactful research”.
Prof. Kit YICK from PolyU SFT discussed “Data-driven testing for sports bra design: integrating dynamic movements and biomechanical insights” during the colloquium.
Dr Markus WERNLI from PolyU Design and his team, Mr Kam Fai Chan, Mr Jonathan Yu and Mr Josh Wolper talked about how their project “Soil Trust” brought joy to climate action.
Dr Aria YANG from PolyU Design presenteted “Well • Being Design Guide for Public Housing Development: From Research to Implementation.”
The Exhibition is now located at the Podium of Jockey Club Innovation Tower. External visitors are welcome to book a visit in advance via this Online System.
