Design Research Impact and Global Insight Colloquia 2025

PolyU Design Research School of Design

On 25 August 2025, the School of Design (PolyU Design) and the School of Fashion and Textiles (PolyU SFT) at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University jointly hosted the 2025 Design Research Impact and Global Insights Colloquia, launching a concurrent exhibition. This event brought together leading design researchers to share groundbreaking insights and showcase innovative projects. The colloquium fostered vibrant discussions among researchers, driving advancements in design research and innovation while presenting new perspectives for global impact.

Prof. Peter HASDELL from PolyU Design presented the topic “Insitu Project 2015-2025: enabling impactful research”.

Prof. Kit YICK from PolyU SFT discussed “Data-driven testing for sports bra design: integrating dynamic movements and biomechanical insights” during the colloquium.

Dr Markus WERNLI from PolyU Design and his team, Mr Kam Fai Chan, Mr Jonathan Yu and Mr Josh Wolper talked about how their project “Soil Trust” brought joy to climate action.
