Sensory Stitches Talk_poster

Summary

Sensory Stitches is a project that explores the intersection of textile and Artificial Intelligence technology. It features a unique intelligent textile system that utilizes AI-based gesture recognition. This system creates an entirely new interactive experience and visual stimulation for visitors. The project was developed by Dr Jeanne Tan and her team, and it utilizes computer vision and deep learning in conjunction with Polymeric Optical Fibres (POFs) to recognize hand and body gestures and provide immediate feedback via different coloured illuminations.

This patented technology transforms passive fabrics into interactive textiles, allowing for the dynamic customization of environments and products. The intelligent textile system can be applied in various contexts, including fashion, interiors, and rehabilitation.
