Hsin Chong – K. N. Godfrey Yeh Education Fund for Student Programme 2021/22


The Incorporated Trustees of the Hsin Chong – K. N. Godfrey Yeh Education Fund (the Trustees) will make available up to HK$21,000 to subsidize study/research projects undertaken by full-time PolyU students in the academic year of 2021/22.  The Fund aims to encourage full-time PolyU local undergraduate individual students or groups of students to pursue holistic growth and advancement through projects/programmes related to the disciplines of Building, Civil Engineering and Architecture. Preference will be given to applicants who are in dire need of financial support.

Under normal circumstances, the Fund is meant to subsidise part of the expenses incurred by students in flight/train, accommodation, and meals during their learning trips / activities in Hong Kong, Chinese mainland or overseas. The applicants are required to bear on their own the rest of the expenses incurred in the trip.

To support students’ global experience during the COVID-19 pandemic when off-shore learning trips are limited* for the sake of students’ health and safety, the arrangements are as follows: -

Students who have received the necessary doses of a COVID-19 vaccination course 14 days prior to their departure are allowed to travel abroad for outbound student activities for Semester One of 2021/22 in the following cities/countries/regions: Mainland China, Macau, Australia, New Zealand and Singapore.

The Fund supports learning activities through online platforms. It may subsidise part of the expenses incurred from registration / participation fees. To be eligible, students without going abroad physically may plan the learning activities such as online conferences, seminars, courses and competitions.

Students who wish to travel abroad for outbound student activities must have received the full doses of COVID-19 vaccination at least 14 days prior to their departure.
