Global Learning Fund

Objectives

The Global Learning Fund is set up to support student-initiated global learning experiences for students to:

  • enhance their worldwide exposure and broaden their global perspectives
  • promote cross-ethnic and cross-cultural understanding, thus facilitating internationalisation

Eligibility

  • The Fund is open to full-time UGC-funded students of PolyU. They can either apply as an individual or as a group.
  • Only activities that are non-credit-bearing and non-course-required will be supported by the Fund. Examples include trips, conferences, seminars, workshops, courses and competitions.

Coverage

  • The Fund supports both physical and online global learning activities initiated by students.
  • Normally, the Fund will only cover part of the expenses and the applicants are required to bear on their own the rest of the expenses incurred.

For students joining physical outbound activities during the COVID-19 pandemic, the University has the following terms and conditions in place to protect their health and safety:

1 July 2022 - 8 January 2023

(1st round application)

 

Students who wish to travel abroad for outbound student activities are strongly recommended to have the full doses of COVID-19 vaccination before departure. Please also note that some countries require inbound travellers to show proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to travel.

9 January - 30 June 2023

(2nd round application)

Application Deadline

  • Activities taking place between 1 July 2022 and 8 January 2023 are eligible for 1st round application and the deadline is 9 December 2022
  • Activities taking place between 9 January and 30 June 2023 are eligible for 2nd round application and the deadline is 21 April 2023.

Interested students are encouraged to attend the following online information session before application. Pre-registration is NOT required.
