EAGLE the Adventurers


Objectives

A holistic scheme to train students through a series of workshops, camps and local engagement focusing on social innovation. Students will be offered a platform to develop their own social projects prototypes after understanding the local needs and co-creating with a local community in Nepal, followed by an offshore 10 to 14-day expedition to Nepal to visit renowned organizations, and to execute the social project together with the locals. Lastly, students shall present the learnings back to Hong Kong.

Suitable for those who aspire to gain a global perspective on social challenges, acquire innovative skills to tackle pressing social issues, and to develop a sense of social responsibility and empathy.

Selected students for the Adventurers will participate and complete the following:

Fundamental Workshops

  • Ethics in Leadership
  • Project and Crisis Management
  • Intercultural Competence
  • Understanding Diverse China

Experiential Learning Activities

  • Leadership Training Camp
  • Local Engagement

Advanced Learning Topics

  • Social innovation and co-creation
  • UN Sustainable Development Goals
  • Social project planning and delivery with offshore community
  • Pre-trip preparations and briefings

Adventurers Offshore Expendition

  • Lectures and workshops on understanding social situations in Nepal
  • Visits to renowned organisations
  • Social project execution with the community
  • Reflections and debriefings
  • Preparation for post-trip commitments

Students will fulfil the post-trip commitments and other activities to complete the whole programme.

Students who are interested in applying for "EAGLE the Adventurers" can complete the online registration form by September.

Follow the steps to complete your registration:

  1. Fill in your personal details correctly
  2. Select "EAGLE the Adventurers" in your registration
  3. Tell us your academic achievements, leadership experience, etc.
  4. Select your preferred Leadership-enhancement Opportunities, if any
  5. Complete other sessions
  6. Submit the form


Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a selection group interview. Results will be announced individually by email after the interview process.

 Selection Criteria

  • Leadership experience and/or accomplishments
  • Commitment in leadership advancement
  • Academic achievements
  • Others, e.g. recommendations, references, etc.

Fees and Deposits

Selected students are required to pay for the listed fees and/or deposits below:

  • Leadership Training Camp (HK$500, deposit) [Refundable upon satisfactory completion of the camp]
  • Programme fee (HK$2,000) [Non-refundable]
  • Programme fee (HK$2,000) [Refundable upon satisfactory completion of all required tasks and commitments]

Subsidies

Students with financial difficulties can apply for EAGLE's subsidies. Details will be announced to all selected students.
