To encourage student organisations and societies to organise extra-curricular activities that will enrich the study and campus experience of all students, the University has provided various funding opportunities for student organisations and societies to run meaningful student programmes/activities both locally and abroad.

Student organisations and societies are welcome to send in programme proposals to apply for funding support.

Health Reminder to Activity-organisers:

In light of the unstable development of the COVID-19 pandemic, the activity-in-charge should pay attention to the latest announcement on preventive and social distancing measures from the Government and the University. To avoid the spread of communicable diseases, activity proposals involving face-to-face gatherings or interactions are not encouraged when members of the PolyU community are urged to avoid non-essential face-to-face activities or to suspend large-scale activities.

Some of the major funding schemes are listed below:

Matching Fund for Student Hirers of Jockey Club Auditorium

This Matching Fund aims to subsidize the venue hire charge of student activities held at Jockey Club Auditorium. Each successful application will be granted a Subsidy of 80% of the basic venue hire charge or no more than HK$18,000*, whichever is lower. The remaining venue hire charges will have to be paid by the student organisation/group itself.
