The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) and the banking industry have jointly launched the Banking Talent Programme to provide young talents with an opportunity to better prepare for future careers in the banking sector. Targeting fresh graduates from local universities, the Programme offers them a six-month work opportunity and industry-specific training.

Job opportunities
Around 450 job openings will be offered by banks, Stored Value Facilities operators, together with the HKMA. Work opportunities will be provided in areas ranging from front-line operations to back-office functions in retail and commercial banking.

Professional training
A series of induction seminars as well as industry-specific training courses will be organised by the HKMA in collaboration with the Hong Kong Academy of Finance and the Hong Kong Institute of Bankers (HKIB).

Programme period
The Programme of this year will start in early September 2021 and last for a period of six months.

The participating companies/organisations will provide a monthly salary (HK$12,000) for each programme participant.

Final-year students graduating with a bachelor’s degree in 2021 are eligible. The disciplines preferred will depend on the work nature of specific jobs and the need of participating companies/organisations.

Eligible students are encouraged to seek advice from CPS on CV and cover letter writing by registering for our Career Advising session before making application to the participating companies/organisations. Those who have received interview requests are also recommended to register for our Mock Interview session for additional interview tips and practices.
