Biography

Prof. Karen Liu is an occupational therapist who has practised in Australia, Hong Kong and the USA. She received a PhD in rehabilitation sciences specialising in neurological rehabilitation. Her clinical, teaching, and research areas include physical and neurological rehabilitation, and paediatric and geriatric rehabilitation. Her research focuses are using cognitive strategies such as mental imagery and self-regulation in rehabilitation to enhance functional regain in different clinical conditions, and using various strategies to improve learning in children with developmental disabilities.

Prof. Liu was inducted as a Fellow of the Occupational Therapy Australia Research Academy (FOTARA).
