文教授於香港獲得職業治療師的資格，並在英國南安普頓大學取得康復科學碩士學位、以及香港大學取得博士學位。文教授在美國和英國分別接受過不同類型之神經康復和認知治療訓練，主要研究範圍為對遙距社區生活技能訓練服務的記憶研究和創新認知康復研究，以及針對腦外傷、輕度及老年認知障礙呆症患者而設的虛擬系統、人工智能和電腦輔助平台。文教授並獲多項角逐基金資助，包括食物衛生局各頸研究基金: 醫療衞生研究基金、健康服務研究基金。其他資助也來自研究基金委員會的一般研究基金、創新及科技基金和 IGARD基金。文教授經常在SCI和SSCI學刊，以及在神經康復領域、老年醫學、康復心理學、職業治療、生活質素等方面發表文章。他還擁有兩項專利、記憶康復的專家系統、針對腦損傷患者和照顧荐的賦權問卷、中文及網上版亡 Rivermead行為記憶測試、IADL中文問卷、劍橋前瞻性記憶測試中文版及三套虛擬現實認知及功能訓練軟件。文教授曾為為理工大學康復治療科學系副系主任 (科研)及腦神經科學和神經康復研究組組長。現任香港理工大學高等研究院 (PAIR) 之精神健康研究中心主任。
