Biography
Dr Clare Yu received a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree from Jinan University in Guangzhou, China and obtained her postgraduate qualifications of MPhil and PhD in Clinical Medicine at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Her M.Phil study was about red blood cell transfusion on left ventricular output and oxygen consumption in premature infants and her Ph.D study was about strength training and diet in the management of obesity in children. She contributed to the collection of the first set of waist circumference norm, the six-minute walk test data, and the norm of cardiopulmonary fitness (Peak VO2) for Hong Kong Chinese children. Her research focuses on pediatric exercise science, childhood obesity, cardiopulmonary assessment in children, and exercise intervention programs for children with autism spectrum disorder.
