Dr Li Ning visits PolyU for industrial cooperation

On 28 April, 2022, the PolyU team welcomed Dr Li Ning, PolyU Honorary Doctor of Humanities and founder of Li-Ning Company, to the University campus, where he held meetings with some of our leading research teams.

 

Dr Li is also a former Chinese Olympic gymnast who won more than 100 gold medals during his career. He founded Li-Ning Company Limited in1989 and the company is regarded as one of China’s top sportswear brands.

 

During his visit, Professor Xiaoming TAO introduced to Dr Li the research and development knowledge transfer of the Research Institute for Intelligent Wearable Systems (RI-IWEAR), thereby him gaining a deeper understanding of the University's latest research on sports technology intelligent wearable systems, fabric material science, apparel engineering and more. Dr Li also had a fruitful discussion with Prof. Jin-Guang Teng, President of PolyU, exploring future collaboration opportunities between the University and Li-Ning Company.
