The Government is committed to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050 and has already reached the peak of carbon emissions in 2014, with the current local carbon emissions having decreased to one-fourth of the peak. With the rapid development of green technology and clean energy, hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles are gradually emerging as an important new direction to drive the low-carbon transformation of transportation. Prof. Christopher Chao, Vice President (Research and Innovation) of PolyU and Director of PReCIT, elaborated in Wen Wei Po that hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles have unique advantages compared to traditional internal combustion engine vehicles and pure electric vehicles, and provided relevant suggestions for their promotion.
