失序的大腦——從神經病變重探人性本質 – The author of this book, Eric R. Kandel, Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, takes readers on an extraordinary journey through the human brain. In this journey, the author explains the relationship between the brain’s neural system and various disorders in a clear and accessible way. These include autism, depression, schizophrenia, anxiety disorders, cognitive impairment, Parkinson’s disease, Huntington’s disease, bipolar disorder, post traumatic stress disorder, and addiction. Many of these conditions originate from malfunctions in the brain’s neurons and neural circuits, leading to neuropathological changes. This book not only analyses how these changes occur but also helps readers understand the mechanisms behind normal brain functioning. It further explores how such knowledge can contribute to the search for new treatments, bringing complex scientific and biological concepts within easy reach.
