One World Our World, themed “Social Diversity and Inclusion” will be held in Hong Kong with students from PolyU and other universities around the world. Participating students will enroll in one of two service-learning subjects: “Community Engagement through Expressive Textile Arts and Fashion” or “Technology Beyond Borders: Service Learning across Cultural, Ethnic and Community Lines”. They will learn about the challenges faced by their target community and acquire knowledge and skills to serve them through an innovative service project. In collaboration with their peers and community members, they will actualize the project to create real impact. Through this service, students will learn to develop empathy and a sense of social responsibility. Supplementing the service project will be talks from world-renowned experts, open dialogues, interactive hands-on workshops and local field visits, on the theme of social diversity and inclusion.

• ITC2S02 Community Engagement through Expressive Textile Arts and Fashion

Schedule:

• June-July Together with students from other universities around the world : 5-7 week class lectures and service projects from the SL subjects, leadership summit, intercultural workshops, and local field visits.
