Research Interests:

Strategic Corporate Governance, Formal and Informal Institutions, Micrcofoundations of Strategic Leadership

Shuping’s research centres on the multi-level antecedents and consequences of strategic corporate governance, involving ownership structure, board monitoring, executive compensation, and turnover. Her current papers are based on firms in both developed and emerging economies, combining case studies and large sample analyses. Shuping serves as an editorial board member of Management and Organization Review, and an ad-hoc reviewer for several journals including Academy of Management Review, Academy of Management Journal, and Strategic Management Journal. Shuping has worked and lived in China, Singapore, Canada, and the USA. Prior to joining PolyU, she was a Visiting Assistant Professor at the Kansas State University.
