On 7 May 2025, MM had the pleasure to host a Public Lecture on “Beyond East and West: Rethinking Cultural Diversity in Human Psychology”, presented by Prof. Shinobu Kitayama, who is the Robert B. Zajonc Collegiate Professor of Psychology at the University of Michigan.
In the lecture, Prof. Kitayama shared his extensive research on how basic psychological processes, including attention, cognition, emotion, and motivation vary across various regions of the world, including the West, East Asia, South Asia, Middle-east and North Africa, and Latin America, and how this variation has significant implications for organizational behavior and consumer behavior.
