機械工程學(榮譽)工學士學位組合課程

(為報讀 2017/2018 或之後學年的學生提供)

機械工程學系併合兩個現有本科課程(即機械工程學(榮譽)工學士學位及產品分析及工程設計學(榮譽)工學士學位)成為機械工程學工學士組合課程.學生在首四個學期內修讀共同科目,而在其後的四個學期(即第五至八個學期)內修讀所選擇的學位課程(以上兩個課程選其一)直至畢業。此安排可讓學生可以在對課程內容有一定認識後才選擇分劃的學位課程。課程不設學位限制,學生可自由選讀機械工程學(榮譽)工學士學位或產品分析及工程設計學(榮譽)工學士學位。

    課程宗旨與學習成果
    機械工程學(榮譽)工學士學位旨在培育學生成為專業工程師。學生能夠運用他們所掌握的科技知識,為工程及商業等業界解決工程學上不同範疇的問題,從而能廣泛服務業界。

    學生在修畢課程後,可以達成以下指標:

    • 運用科學原理,從工程學角度設計或分析解決方案;
    • 藉使用電腦計算來解決工程問題;
    • 學習以數理方式表達技術上的難題,繼而研究或改善所涉及的工程系統;
    • 選擇從安全、環保、美學及經濟效益上都合適的物料及方法,進行工程學相關的產品設計及開發;
    • 有效地在語言和文字上討論或表達工程學上新穎而有創意的想法;以及。
    • 遵守工程師的操守和社會責任,了解終身學習、質量改良及全球化對設計、製造和市場推廣方面持續性影響的重要性。

    產品分析及工程設計學(榮譽)工學士學位

    課程宗旨與學習成果
    產品分析及工程設計學(榮譽)工學士學位是一個跨學科的課程,目標是培育學生應用科技,設計及商業元素,開發高增值產品。課程教授學生必要的知識、技巧、科技及國際視野,使他們能夠開發新穎而又具創意、高性價比、迎合各地生活水平,暢銷的產品。其畢業生將成為專業產品設計工程師、項目工程師或工程設計師,在幫助香港由原生產製造商(OEMs) 轉營至原品牌製造商(OBMs)的擔當中承擔重要的角色。

    學生在修畢課程後,可以達成以下指標:

    • 在迎合市場需求下,同時面對科技及商業等限制下進行產品設計或開發;
    • 應用科學、數學、工程學和美術知識來分析設計上的問題;以及
    • 管理或執行產品設計及開發的項目。

    課程特點

    課程提供全面教學和訓練,為畢業生開發結合設計、科技及商業條件的產品做好準備。此外,課程以學習成果為本,以綜合發展及興趣導向方針,讓學生能在產品設計、市場策劃、溝通表達、團隊合作、管理及自學方面有所增長,日後在多種業界擔當重要的角色。

  • 入學要求

    General Entrance Requirements

    For entry with HKDSE Qualification
    4 core subjects and 2 elective subjects with: 
    Level 3: English Language, Chinese Language and two elective subjects
    Level 2: Mathematics and Liberal Studies 


    Preferred Subjects
    Preferred elective subject(s): Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Combined Science or Information & Communication Technology, extended modules of Mathematics (M1 or M2)

    Alternative Entry Route

    1. Diploma (with Credit or passes at Merit Level in at least three Level III subjects) in Mechanical Engineering or other related disciplines;
    2. Higher Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or other related disciplines;
    3. Higher Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or other related disciplines;
    4. Associate Degree in Engineering;
    5. HKALE, GCEAL/GCEASL,IB;
    6. Qualifications equivalent to (a)-(f)
    7. Holders of a Higher Diploma, Associate Degree, HKALE, GCEAL, IB in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline may be given credit transfer.

    Admission Score Calculation

    The “best”5 HKDSE subjects (after subject weightings have been applied) will be taken into account.

  • 課程結構

    The first year of the scheme adopts the common first year curriculum used by most programmes in the Engineering Faculty. It includes fundamentals in physics, mathematics and information-technology. In addition, enhancements in languages and General Education are also provided.

     

    The scheme curriculum in the first and second semesters of the second year is common for both programmes. In addition to fundamentals in materials engineering, engineering mechanics, electricity and electronics, computing, and engineering design, enhancements in mathematics, languages and general education are provided. In addition to studying the same academic subjects, students will undertake the same industrial training programmes during the first two years.

     

    BEng(Hons) in Mechanical Engineering

    The third and fourth years provide core knowledge in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, materials, design and manufacture, dynamics and control and advanced mathematics, and in-depth studies in communication and mechanical engineering disciplines. Students can choose Elective Subjects in the following technical streams:

    • Aerospace Engineering;
    • Design and Automation; and
    • Environmental and Energy Engineering.

     

    In the fourth year, students are required to complete a final year Capstone Project.

     

    BEng(Hons) in Product Analysis and Engineering Design

    The third and fourth years provide core knowledge in thermo-fluid mechanics, dynamics and control, mechatronics, materials and design, industrial and engineering design, and in-depth studies in communication and design techniques.

     

    In the fourth year, students are required to complete the final year Capstone Design Project, which may involve industrial sponsorship and production of prototype.

    機械工程學(榮譽)工學士學位課程及產品分析及工程設計學(榮譽)工學士學位課程均得到香港工程師學會(HKIE) 專業認可。
