PRX is already regarded as one of the top-quality journals in physics with high visibility and a broad readership. It is currently seeing a visible increase in both the quality and number of submissions. The editors have now been charged by the APS leadership to make PRX significantly more selective than it has been, by aiming to publish only a limited number (in the low hundreds) of key papers from all areas of physics, that merit broad dissemination and high visibility. I will give a brief overview of the journal and its editorial policies and practices in a way it could be useful for the audience of both authors and referees. I will also answer your questions about the scientific publishing in PRX and possibly other Physical Review Journals.
Dr. Yiming Xu received his B.Sc. from Nanjing University in China and his Ph.D. from Boston College, both in experimental condensed matter physics. Prior to joining PRX in 2014, he was a postdoctoral fellow in Materials Sciences Division at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. His research focus was on the electronic properties of strongly correlated materials.
