燃燒及污染控制研究中心於2001年成立。過去多年,中心成功研發燃燒及空氣污染控制的關鍵技術。透過向業界提供卓越服務,理大成為香港及珠三角地區在相關領域的可靠夥伴。

    過去多年,燃燒及污染控制研究中心成功為理大爭光,其成就包括:

    • 進行多個研究項目,其中一半以上獲得校外資金支持。
    • 研究工作及活動促進教學和學習水平的提升(包括課程發展)。
    • 在中心的監督下,很多研究生順利畢業,或正於中心工作。
    • 發表多份在國際間舉足輕重的論文,並在多個國際學術會議發表報告。
    • 成功舉辦多個會議、研討會和工作坊。
    • 主要成員的論文屢獲《科學引文索引》收錄。
    • 成功進行多個諮詢項目。
    • 部份空氣污染控制系統燃燒器設計及開發成功取得專利。

  • 中心宗旨

    燃燒及污染控制研究中心就燃燒及空氣污染控制,成功創造及開發關鍵知識,其可在實質環境中被應用,以及用於基礎研究。中心的主要目的為:

    1. 中心致力於燃燒及空氣污染控制方面的研究,並希望從移動及固定污染源的燃燒過程中實現能源利用,中心積極爭取資金以支持這些工作,重點之一是其結果及影響,包括應用新知識協助業界和社區、發表優質論文,及培訓研究生。
    2. 向政府/業界/社區提供專業服務,通過開展諮詢項目、舉辦技術工作坊和研討會,及開發工程和科學設備/系統/策略,從而解決燃燒及空氣污染問題。
    3. 利用從研發中獲得的新知識優化研究生/本科生教學,致力改進和發展針對交通相關的空氣污染控制,及環保燒系統和產品設計的課程內容。此外,亦會為研究生/本科生提供相關畢業專題項目。

    • Highly efficient and permeable polymer based nano-fiber filter media for removal of sub-micron aerosols suspended in air
    • Innovation in wound dressing for improved wound healing with minimized infection
    • Study on combustion and emission characteristics of diesel engine fuelled with blended diesel/oxygenate or bio-diesel blended with oxygenate
    • A multi-scale aerosol dynamics and pollutant dispersion model
    • Vehicular aerosol concentration and dispersion from on-road vehicles using the multi-scale simulation
    • Pollutant concentrations of moving vehicles in urban road microenvironments
    • Measurement and dispersion prediction of ultra-fine particle and gaseous emissions from on-road vehicles in Hong Kong
